Mostly Unlearning is an award-winning approach to accessibility and disability inclusion. One that delivers both human and commercial value. More than compliance, we help you build a plan with momentum and teeth. Our specialist expertise will help galvanise enterprise-wide effort for greater impact.

If it were easy, and you already knew what to do, you wouldn't need us.

Our work spans the decisions, systems and practices that shape accessibility and disability inclusion across an organisation. That makes accessibility and disability inclusion whole-of-business challenges, spanning disciplines including:

Digital | Design | Employee Experience | Recruitment | Customer Experience | Marketing | Communication | Workplace Adjustments | Health and Safety | Product Development | Procurement | Technology | Accessibility | Digital Accessibility | Executive Commitment | AI Readiness

The barriers to accessibility and inclusion aren't necessarily sitting within those disciplines. They're often sitting in the decisions that govern them.

Sometimes the most transformative work isn't building something new. It's fixing what everything else is built on. We’ll help create the conditions for people to do the accessible and inclusive work they already know how to do.

About Mostly Unlearning

What is Unlearning?

Unlearning is the messy part of change. The bit that happens before the awards or the board pack polish.

Learning is something new you didn’t know before. There’s excitement when you learn something new.

Relearning is similar; you’re reminded of something you already knew. “Oh yeah.” It reinforces your expertise.

Unlearning is completely different. It is uncomfortable. When unlearning, we let go of the ways we’ve been doing things. Loosening our grip on the ego of expertise feels counterintuitive.

Sometimes the unlearning is professional. Sometimes it’s deeply personal. When it comes to accessibility and disability inclusion, it’s usually both.

About Briar

I am a high-energy, high-impact disability inclusion changemaker.

Years after acquiring my disability, a difficult pregnancy prompted me to start sharing my lived experience of disability at work.

Today, I’m a multi-award-winning disability inclusion changemaker, working inside and alongside organisations to transform the experiences of disabled customers, employees, patients and audiences.

You can read more about my professional experience on LinkedIn and subscribe to my weekly(ish) newsletter, Mostly Unlearning, which amplifies accessibility, inclusion, and disability towards more impactful commercial and human outcomes.

I might write about unlearning, but at times I’ve found the discomfort excruciating. I’m here to share with you why the discomfort is worth it.

Why I Do This

Disability confidence and inclusion changes people’s lives.

Having felt the life-changing impacts of

  • acquiring a disability

  • being excluded

  • being included

I share what I’m learning and unlearning to help others feel less alone and to improve our collective disability confidence and inclusion.
